“It is obvious that the solid scientific educational potential of the university should be used more effectively to train specialists of the highest level capable of solving the problems of national development in public administration, economy, social sphere, for a breakthrough in those areas that define a new technological era,” Putin added.

The finalists will be announced in April 2019 and the award ceremony will take place in May.

The national award “Crystal Compass” is the first award in the field of national geography, ecology, conservation and popularization of the natural and historical and cultural heritage of Russia. The award was established in 2012.

The awards are organized by the Krasnodar Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the corporate association Gazprom na Kuban.
